So Many Great Stories

Received arc for an honest review. Loved all but two of the stories. I wanted to like them but couldn't. Fortunately the rest of the collection was well worth the time it took to read and introduced me to new authors I'd like to follow. Don't pass this one up even if it's not your favorite genre.

10 Sexy M�nage Stories – A Wide Variety Offered – Noir and Klaire especially make it a Winner.

1. Running with Wolves – Roxie Noir – 5 stars
Fun, Smoking read in a pack where wolves form Triads. Greta owns and runs the only “Wolf bar” in town. At 30 she is content with her life, but as Alpha’s daughter many think she should be mated, and all the single males consider her desperate or available. Elliott returns to town where he grew up, but was picked on as a nerd – he has since filled out and has now moved back with his mate Shane. The dynamics between these three is terrific. The background and struggles of each are real as we find out whether they can become a triad, or whether family, pack and/or town will come between them.

2. Feral Gaze – Athena Wright – 4 stars
Young music critic Ailey has always swooned over Jayce from the band Feral Silence – as he is truly a rock star genius. Jayce is unreachable until Ailey gets a summer internship at Jayce’s music label where this opportunity has her more than just meeting the band in passing. Neil who has been flirting with Ailey on-line is happy for her, but suspects she has a thing for Jayce. When these three end up in the same space at the same time Ailey has a decision to make – or does she? Rock stories are not my usual genre – I liked the intern angle.

3. Claimed by the Cowboys – Jamie Klaire – 5 stars
Rose needs a change months after she loses her husband to cancer. She gives up her chef position to become a cook at a dude ranch hoping for no-strings attached wannabe cowboys. She did not expect owner-ranchers Cade and Kevin to either be so hot or so accommodating. Super sexy romp of a western.

One brother handles the business portion of the ranch; horses and cattle, the other brother handles the dude ranch portion. We learn that there is a third portion which is described in Claimed by the Cowboys 2 (which at the time of this review was FREE) I’m certainly going to check out that story too!!

4. Double Delights – Kit Kyndall – 4 stars
Tamsyn is embarrassed, but less devastated than she thought when her fianc� Will breaks up with her two weeks before their wedding at a dinner with his entire family. His twin brothers Dean and Evan take the tearful Tamsyn to their home when she does not want to return to her parents who disapproved of the match anyway. An earlier attraction flares between these three – and once convinced a trio might work – the brothers set out to court her. Unconventional – but well written. I liked the build up to the relationship.

5. Twin Dragons – Alyse Zaftig – 2 stars
Gail is rescued by handsome twin brothers who turn out to be dragons when a railing fails at the Seattle Space Needle… This story has some good aspects, but it is disjointed and has many “jarring” sections that are not sexy or seem just wrong; water is a good lubricant for one and certain acts which would require preparation where there is none. One page a child is born, the next they are kidnapped but a page late it’s OK.

6. Taken by the Barbarian Princes – Lily Reynard – 4.5 stars
Torn from her home on her wedding day by the conquering troops of General Vespasian, Marcella offers herself as a war-prize to two handsome, muscular barbarian princes in return for my family's safety. Far from being afraid, she thanks all the gods for this unexpected rescue from her loathsome bridegroom. In the midst of a war in 79 AD these “barbarians” are better men than most, and save not only Marcella but her family and much of the townspeople. Sweet sexy start to this story – makes me want to read how it turns out.

7. Step Secrets; Sharing My Best Friend – R Nutt – 3 stars
Riley, her step Beau, and her wild best friend Heather are all about to get closer than ever ... FFM is not my normal read, but young people home on Fall break reconnect with each other and reveal their true feelings regardless of what society would think. Sexy little romp.

8. Billionaire Encounter – Savannah May – 2 stars
Three men. One woman. A battle for control. Not my cup of tea – I’ve read BDSM that was boundary stretching – yet caring. I do not get any of that feeling from this story and did not care for the characters and did not find it sexy.

9. Loving Revenge – CC Morian – 2.5 stars
Bob can’t understand why the interactions between Gina and Lauren are so emotionally charged, and he suspects it’s all about jealousy. He takes a very personal interest, concocting a wild plan to jointly resolve their rivalry once and for all.
As stated above FFM is not my normal read. I found it hard to relate to or like the characters in this story except for perhaps Lauren. A somewhat more satisfying end to this one.

10. Tempting Textress – Alexa Lynch – 4.5 stars
Tempting men to walk the on the edge of sensual exploration is Morgan’s specialty. She thrives on their second guesses, but she's met her match in Donald. His fearless eyes and seductive texts tantalize her into dangerous arousing positions. She keeps telling herself to walk away. He keeps texting her. A unique and engaging story - well written and scintillating. I signed up for this authors newsletter.

I enjoyed this book very much. There is a variety to suit many tastes. Cowboys, ancient barbarians from Roman times, wolf shifters and others that make this a hot, steamy and sexy book. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

About the Author
David Barrett is the world's most published author of the blues harmonica. Having played saxophone and trumpet for many years David already had a solid musical platform when he started to play the harmonica at age fourteen. By age sixteen he was already playing blues jam sessions and harmonica shows in the California bay area. By age eighteen he was studying music theory in college and started teaching harmonica at local music institutes. By age twenty he released his first book, Building Harmonica Technique, with Mel Bay Publications. While finishing his degree in music he had the opportunity to take over a local music store that helped spur the beginning of the Harmonica Masterclass Workshop. David now runs the Harmonica Masterclass Company full time, bringing lesson books, lesson videos, private instruction, and workshops to players all around the world. David has worked and played with Charlie Musselwhite, Mark Hummel, Lee Oskar, Rod Piazza, James Harman, Gary Smith, Andy Just, Mark Ford, Billy Boy Arnold, Rick Estrin, Paul deLay, Jerry Portnoy, Gary Primich, Howard Levy, Magic Dick, Tom Ball, Annie Raines, Paul Oscher, Phil Wiggins, and Brendan Power. He now fronts his own band featuring John Garcia on guitar and vocals. David is the owner of the Harmonica Masterclass Company, that specializes in harmonica products and workshops for blues harmonica. His last workshop had twenty-six states and eight countries represented in attendance. Through his numerous instructional books and videos, David is revolutionizing the way the harmonica is taught. His credentials include both private instruction and group instruction for colleges, music conservatories, adult community schools and breakout sessions at Harmonica Masterclass Workshops and School of the Blues Workshops all around the world. John can be heard on various recordings including lead guitarist and frontman on Blues singer John Lee Hooker's "The Cream" on Tomato Records. Recording sessions included working with Paul Simon for the movie sound track and album "One Trick Pony" in 1979. John's latest album is with David Barrett called "Serious Fun," on which many of his original compositions are featured.

This is THE BOOK for harmonica improv.

This man probably knows more about the harmonica and good instruction than anyone on the planet. His approach to improvising will greatly improve your playing. Not for a beginner, but, if you have a solid background, this will get your improvising onstage.

This is one of the best harmonica books I've ever seen. Very well organized and structured. There's no way you could not be a much better player after working through this material.

Great intro into evidence based medicine

I trained at McMaster in the 70's when Dave Sackett was the head of the imposingly named Epidemiology and Biostatistics Department and thought he was a visionary regarding future medical practice. Dave really popularized this topic in medicine and made it important to others; he mentored those like Gord Guyatt who I believe came up with the term "evidence based medicine" that is now thought to be the way we should learn new info and then practice it. Sackett's very common sense approach to reading and interpreting medical papers took away the scare of the terminology of biostatistics for those of us shy of math in medicine and his series on reading medical literature in CMAJ was pace setting at the time it was published. His guidelines still work well. I ordered this (now older) book as a used copy as I am also getting older and involved in running a medical database - it re-aquainted me with his ideas in more detail and this book just reinforced how ahead of his times he was. This is a classic reference on this topic as are Gord Guyatt's later publications.

EBM from the Father of EBM

This edition of the book had David Sackett as a contributor. It's a very good tool for those who 1) do not have a great idea of what evidence-based medicine is and 2) are interested in mastering the subject at the conceptual level.

It is not a quick and dirty guide. It assumes you want to understand EBM thoroughly.

Being an avid "Franklinite," the flame of my interest in the mystery of the Erebus and Terror was fanned after the wreck of the Erebus was found in the Arctic last year after almost 170 years. Kristina Gehrmann has researched very well into the doomed expedition and her drawings not only show excellent detail and are well executed, but are also quite adorable. The storyline is of course fictional, since we don't know exactly what may have happened, but nonetheless it is believable as one of many theories. I'm eagerly awaiting the second book in the series.

He is schedule to graduate with his Masters of Arts in Information Technology Management in 2014 with international accreditation.

Step-by-step MODx goodness

I've been a MODx user and developer for as long as Shawn has, so I'm well familiar with his helpful presence on the MODx support forums over the years. This book easily fulfills the promise of all that experience. Within a few minutes, in fact the fourth random spot I looked at as soon as I got home from the post office, I'd learned something new that actually answered a problem I've been having.

I found the format to be easy to follow, and the code samples easy to read and understand. The first section is good for newbies, taking a guided tour through the management interface. Each section gets progressively more advanced, building on what you learn in earlier sections, or making it easy for old hands to just skip ahead to the more advanced features. I'm looking forward to several days of pure MODx pleasure.

Excellent supplement to the official online documentation

This book tackles the learning of MODX through an example driven approach, something that official online documentation is rather lacking in. Starting with a simple introduction to the interface for beginners, it takes you all the way through the essentials of MODX, dymanic content in MODX, live project examples and on to the intricacies of the development API and xPDO system. Ending with an example of creating a custom third-party application with MODX.

Whether you're looking for a logical situation based introduction to MODX or want to explore the deeper development opportunities the system presents, I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

Not a beginner book

This book is a great book for advanced learners. It is very thorough and describe a lot of the
advanced stuff Including how to use Ajax and Php together with modX.

My recommendation will be read the official guide before this one
